Black Round Pipe

Black annealed pipe that has been heat-treated, or annealed, to remove internal stresses. This process makes the pipe stronger and more ductile. Black annealed pipe is also known as a cold rolled pipe. It is welded by hot-rolled coil or strip steel after finishing rolling and annealing. The main purpose of black pipe is to carry natural gas into homes and businesses. It is also used for fire sprinkler systems because it is more fire-resistant than galvanized pipe. Black annealed pipe is a type of steel pipe that has been annealed (heat-treated) to remove its internal stresses, making it stronger and more ductile.

Black annealed pipe manganese is often added to improve the hardenability of low-carbon steels. These additions turn the material into a low-alloy steel by some definitions, but AISI's definition of carbon steel allows up to 1.65% manganese by weight. There are two types of higher carbon steels which are high carbon steel and the ultra-high carbon steel. The reason for the limited use of high carbon steel is that it has extremely poor ductility and weld ability and has a higher cost of production. The applications best suited for the high carbon steels is its use in the spring industry, farm industry, and in the production of wide range of high-strength wires.

● Heat resistant. Black pipe are used in fire sprinklers and pipes to transfer hot and cold water to heat exchangers because they are able to withstand high heat.

● Corrosion resistance. Black pipes are made of mild steel, which gives them better corrosion resistance than cast iron pipes.

● Seamless. Since the black pipe tubes are cold drawn and rolled, they are sturdier and safer the stitched variety. As a result, they can safety move propane and natural gas without the risk of explosion.

● The cost is relatively lower. Black piping is cheaper to produce than galvanized piping, because the surface doesn't need to treat.
