API 5L A106 grade B seamless steel pipes is a standard for pipes used to transport gas, water, and oil in the oil and natural gas industry. API 5L Grade B pipe is a common grade pipe for oil and gas pipeline transmissions. It has a minimum yield strength of 245 Mpa (35,500 Psi). API 5L Grade B pipes can have outer diameters ranging from ½ inches to 48 inches. ASTM A106 Grade B is a medium carbon steel pipe with a carbon content of 0.3% and a manganese content of 0.29-1.06%. It has a minimum yield strength of 240 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa. ASTM A106 Grade B pipes are used in power plants, boilers, petrochemical plants, oil and gas refineries, and ships.

 

API 5L A106 grade B seamless steel pipes are tubes that do not have any welding seam. They are made from solid steel that is formed into a solid round shape called "billets". The billets are then heated and cast over a form to create a hollow tube or shell. API 5L Grade B pipe is a common grade pipe for oil and gas pipeline transmissions. It also called L245 Pipe refer ISO 3183, named by minimum yield strength 245 Mpa (355,000 Psi). Equivalent material ASTM A106 B or ASTM A53 B, which have similar value on chemical composition, mechanical properties, and applications.
