GUANGZHOU, Oct. 15 -- The 138th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, renowned as "China's No. 1 Fair" and a "barometer of foreign trade," grandly opened today at the Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou. Against the backdrop of a complex and ever-changing global economic landscape, this session of the Canton Fair, with its larger scale, optimized structure, and innovative models, showcases the robust resilience and boundless creativity of Chinese manufacturing to the world, injecting crucial confidence into the recovery of global trade.
Scale Hits New High, Underscoring Global Appeal
It is reported that the total exhibition area of this Canton Fair has expanded to 1.55 million square meters, with over 74,000 booths and nearly 29,000 participating enterprises, setting a new historical record in scale. Despite challenges such as fluctuations in international demand, the fair continues to demonstrate strong global appeal. It is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of offline buyers from over 220 countries and regions worldwide. The online platform will also operate 24/7, providing "cloud-based" negotiation opportunities for overseas buyers unable to attend in person.
"We have seen registration enthusiasm far exceeding expectations," said a spokesperson for the Canton Fair. "This fully demonstrates the importance of the Canton Fair as an international public good and the continued reliance of the global market on China's supply chains."
